Halloween

The Bailey’s have a Halloween party that we go to every year. There is lots of good food and lots of friends and family there.  We were running behind so I didn’t get good pictures of all the kids.

Matthew was an Army Man- it was nice having Grandma DeVaux there to help us trick or treat. It was the perfect night for trick or treating, not very cold and not too hot.

We had a fun Halloween. It was nice to be with our friends and family. Thanks for the fun party Pam & Micha!

Halloween Night

DSC_0236DSC_0237

I had to take some pictures of Kaylee as Princess Leia. I just love the wig! The boys took to long to get ready so I didn’t get any individual pictures of them.

Pam & Micha hosted a Halloween party so we went to their house. The kids had fun playing outside. Averi was  a little scavenger, taking food off the kids plates. She is eating a nacho and hot dog, the 4th child really has to learn how to fend for herself! I made my new favorite dip- Jalapeno Popper Dip-Everyone loved it! If you like jalapeno poppers you will LOVE it! I doubled the recipe and we still ran out!

Kaylee had a meltdown towards the end, so Jim ran and got the van and a few kids rode back to the house with him. It was a perfectly fun Halloween!

Halloween Morning

We celebrated Halloween on Saturday. We started the day with a little Halloween Party and Trunk-or-Treat at our church. The kids were so excited to wear their costumes! Matthew & Kaylee were Luke & Leia, Thomas was Clone Commander Cody and Averi was a witch (I got her costume for FREE from the library)

Kaylee was very excited to do the cake walk. She was a little scared though and not sure what to do, so one of the sweet young women in the ward helped her. She did the cake walk  for about 10 minutes before she finally got her number called and got a cupcake!

Halloween Crafts

One of my friends invited a bunch of girls over for a craft/card night.  I didn't feel like making cards because I still have quite a few from my days as a Stampin' UP! demonstrator so I worked on a few crafts that I had seen out in the blogging world.  Here are the things I was able to make that night. It felt so good to do something crafty. It has been way too long! It was also great to hang out with friends and eat yummy food and have a break from mommy duty!
Thomas's school has a fall carnival and each class puts together a basket so I made a pumpkin for the basket and for me.  I made the cute frame. It is the $1 frame from Michaels. The pumpkin stamp is from Stampin' UP Carved & Candelit (still one of my all time favorite sets!) I printed BOO out on my printer then stamped the pumpkin, cut it out and put it in the frame, super easy and cheap fun!

I saw the idea for the white pumpkin here and had to make one. They were really easy to make and turned out pretty cute..

I had seen a lot of halloween shadow boxes and decided to make my own version. I found a 50% off any Martha Stewart product coupon for Michael's so I bought the bat punch, I had the 10x10 canvas already.  I punched the bats out of some halloween paper and used a tape measure to mark off my grid. I put the bats on with pop dots.  It only took abotu 30 minutes to make and I love the end result!  I haven't hung it up yet because I haven't found my box of halloween decorations, maybe I'll find them this weekend while we are getting ready for our neighborhood garage sale!
So there are my fun crafts! It felt good to do something I love...I need to make more time for things like this!

Halloween

We had a fun Halloween and birthday weekend. Friday night Jim and I went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner and then started some Christmas shopping for the kids. We enjoyed the night away from the kids and came home to a very clean house thanks to our awesome babysitter Haley. That girl has very fast and good cleaning skills! The kids love her too!
Saturday morning Jim and the kids woke me up and had yummy cinnamon rolls and fruit for breakfast. They all had little presents for me and were so excited for my birthday. It is so fun having kids to celebrate with. Thomas had a soccer game that afternoon. I stayed home with M&K and took a nap while they were it was so nice! We had a gourmet dinner of sloppy Joe's, I ate my cheesecake factory leftovers. Jim got me this yummy cookie cake from Sam's club. All the kids helped me blow out candles, which is their favorite part of birthdays!

Matthew took every one's candles and loaded them onto his piece of cookie and asked Jim to light it for him.

For costumes this year we let the kids pick out their own. Kaylee saw the angel costume and had to have it. She is all girl! Matthew loved Thomas's old skeleton costume so it saved us from buying another one. Thomas decided on a clone trooper from star wars (which he is too scared to watch). We just stayed in our neighborhood and got to meet some of our neighbors. We drove to our friends in the ward who live in the neighborhood, but aren't so close. The kids thought it was pretty cool that they got to sit in the back not in their car seats.
I got released from my calling in Young Women's on Sunday. I have been working with the 12 & 13 year old girls for about a year. With the baby coming it was just going to be too hard to do it all. Right now I'm calling free, which is kind of nice because I fee like I have so much to do to get ready for this baby and Christmas and Thomas's birthday. I'm 35 weeks so I don't have too much longer. I start going to the Dr. every week now! Because of the c-section with Matthew, I can't be induced so I just have to wait until she is ready to come, which is hard because I'd much rather have it all planned. Oh well it will just make it all the more exciting. I can't believe that it is November, the year has really flown by!
