My silly kids

Since it is the end of the year, I thought I'd do a quick post on each of my kids and what they are up to lately.

Thomas is a very good big brother. We've had lots of talks with him about how to be a good brother and that he needs to help Kaylee and Matthew. He has really stepped up to the plate. He is excited for the new baby to come and to help take care of her. He loves to build things with all sorts of blocks. He has a very active and creative imagination. He loves to learn and figure things out. Some days he never stops talking!

Kaylee is all girl. She loves all things pink, it is "her color." She loves to help me load and unload the dishwasher. She is always looking for ways to help her brothers. When it is time to go somewhere she gathers up everyone's shoes and takes them to the right person. She still isn't talking much, but she understands everything we say and is quick to act. She gets beat up by her brothers, but she is pretty tough and can hold her own most of the time. If Daddy is around, the tears do flow more freely. She is definately a "Daddy's Girl"

Matthew is my cuddle bug. He is always good for a kiss and a hug. He is talking up a storm and copies everything we say. He loves to sing and has cute versions of I Am a Child of God, Twinkle Twinkle, and The ABC's just to name a few. He is all boy and loves all sports. He'll grab a football and say "Football You!" and come and tackle you. He is great at soccer, he really thought he should be able to play on Thomas's team. He is obsessed with cars and often has as many as he can carry in his hands, usually about 5 or 6.
That is all I have time for now. My kids are far from perfect (as those of you are around them know!) But they are sweet and they are mine and I love them to pieces! Can't wait to meet this little girl and see what she is like!

Thanksgiving & Pregnancy Update

So here I am at 39 weeks and 2 days. I've put on 16 pounds and I am measuring small still (about 35 cm). I had a Dr's appt this morning and there is no sign of her coming anytime soon! I guess she is too comfy in there. I go back on Friday and if there is still no change then we'll schedule a c-section since I can't be induced. Not really what I want, but I also am ready for her to come and don't really want to go over my due date so we'll see what this week brings! I might try out jumping on the trampoline so see if that speeds things up :)!

We celebrated Thanksgiving with the Kump's. It was a fun day. Our kids love going to their house and playing with all their fun toys and playing with their sweet dog Sugar. Thanks for hosting this year!

Fun at Bass Pro Shop

Jim had to go to Houston 2 days last week. On one of the flights he sat by a lady whose husband works at Bass Pro Shop. She told Jim about all the fun things they have there right now so we  decided to go get Santa pictures and explore the store on Saturday morning. I had only been there once before when I was teaching. We took our class there on a field trip. We're only about 15 minutes from it so I'm not sure why we haven't been there, except that we aren't big outdoorsmen :). The kids loved it! We spent about 1 1/2 hours there. It was great free fun!

Free Santa Picture! Matthew did not like Santa this year, till we were leaving :) we'll have to try again later!

I'm 38 weeks and 3 days, I have an appointment this morning so we'll see if anything is going on!

A Little Indian

Thomas had a Thanksgiving feast at school today. They had lunch with the other Pre-K class. His class dressed up as Indians and the other class were the Pilgrims. They gave each other necklaces as gifts.

Last Sunday before church Kaylee and Matthew started dancing. They looked so cute I had to pull out the camera and take their pictures. They are growing up so fast!

I don't think I"ve even blogged about moving Kaylee & Matthew to big beds. We decided to separate them because they would not go to sleep together so we got new beds. I'll have to take a picture of the boys room. I still haven't found comforters that I like for them so it doesn't look cute or anything. For Kaylee I found a comforter that matches the crib set I got for baby girl. I got it for $17 on Ebay! I am loving Ebay!!! They do really well going to bed on their own. It is nice because Kaylee is usually ready to go to bed before Matthew because she takes a shorter nap so we put her down and she doesn't even know that Matthew is still up.

So I have 2 more weeks till my due date! I can't believe it. I've been in "nesting" mode. We got some great toy organizers from Ikea for our playroom. I'm still working on cleaning and sorting and organzing. I'll take pictures when it is clean and get those posted soon. I've got most of the kids Christmas presents bought, we just have a few big items that we are waiting to get, but know what we want. I got released from working with the Young Women at church. I am sad to not be working with them anymore, but it is such a busy calling with a new baby I would have a hard time doing it right. I got called to be the Visiting Teaching Coordinator, it should be a fun  and easy calling that I can do from home and with my computer. That's all for now!

Free Class!

Jessica Sprague is offering another free class. Registration starts today. Just go to her website and sign up for it! Her classes are awesome and teach you so much about photoshop and elements. You get lots of great freebies too!

Halloween

We had a fun Halloween and birthday weekend. Friday night Jim and I went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner and then started some Christmas shopping for the kids. We enjoyed the night away from the kids and came home to a very clean house thanks to our awesome babysitter Haley. That girl has very fast and good cleaning skills! The kids love her too!
Saturday morning Jim and the kids woke me up and had yummy cinnamon rolls and fruit for breakfast. They all had little presents for me and were so excited for my birthday. It is so fun having kids to celebrate with. Thomas had a soccer game that afternoon. I stayed home with M&K and took a nap while they were it was so nice! We had a gourmet dinner of sloppy Joe's, I ate my cheesecake factory leftovers. Jim got me this yummy cookie cake from Sam's club. All the kids helped me blow out candles, which is their favorite part of birthdays!

Matthew took every one's candles and loaded them onto his piece of cookie and asked Jim to light it for him.

For costumes this year we let the kids pick out their own. Kaylee saw the angel costume and had to have it. She is all girl! Matthew loved Thomas's old skeleton costume so it saved us from buying another one. Thomas decided on a clone trooper from star wars (which he is too scared to watch). We just stayed in our neighborhood and got to meet some of our neighbors. We drove to our friends in the ward who live in the neighborhood, but aren't so close. The kids thought it was pretty cool that they got to sit in the back not in their car seats.

I got released from my calling in Young Women's on Sunday. I have been working with the 12 & 13 year old girls for about a year. With the baby coming it was just going to be too hard to do it all. Right now I'm calling free, which is kind of nice because I fee like I have so much to do to get ready for this baby and Christmas and Thomas's birthday. I'm 35 weeks so I don't have too much longer. I start going to the Dr. every week now! Because of the c-section with Matthew, I can't be induced so I just have to wait until she is ready to come, which is hard because I'd much rather have it all planned. Oh well it will just make it all the more exciting. I can't believe that it is November, the year has really flown by!

Pumpkins & Mud

We got Thomas some Trio blocks and he loves them. He has so much fun building things with them. This is a robot he built. They come with easy to follow "blue prints" to build a variety of things.

So we met our Sachse Friends at the Flower Mound pumpkin patch this morning. It was a muddy mess, but we still had fun. Hopefully it will dry up and we can go again and get a few better pictures. Here's a sampling of our fun this morning.

Rainy Days

We've had what feels like a month of rainy days here lately. I'm enjoying the cooler weather, but not the rain! We all get way to stir crazy. It is supposed to dry up a the end of the week and I really hope it does!

Here's a few pix of Matthew and Kaylee this morning. I've decided to seperate them for naptime. It is going pretty well. Matthew is sleeping in Thomas's bed and Kaylee stays in their room. I had to sit with Kaylee yesterday until she fell asleep because she was so sad Matthew wasn't there.  Matthew likes sleeping in Thomas's room, though today he wanted to go to his room so I gave him a chance, but neither one would lay down, they just wanted to play so I put him back in Thomas's room. They fell asleep much quicker!

Kaylee in pigtails, I think she looks very cute :)

I love her big blue eyes!!

Here I am at 32 weeks and 4 days...I'm not anywhere close to how big I was with M&K, but it still feels big to me!

Toddler Beds

Well last week Matthew decided he did not want to sleep in his bed anymore. We weren't really ready to take off their crib tents off and let them have their freedom, but we didn't have a choice. The first couple of nights we just had them on pallets in front of their crib because we wanted a place to put them when they were naughty. They did pretty good and we decided there was no turning back so we took off the crib tents (sad day for me) and the front of their cribs and now they have toddler beds. They were very excited about their beds not being cages anymore.  Matthew decided he liked sleeping on the floor and didn't want to sleep in his crib so we made him a pallet on the floor and he was happy. Kaylee was in her crib, but crying and Jim went in and she pointed to the floor. She wanted to be on the floor like Matthew.  On Monday, she laid on the floor first and then when I went in to check on them she was in her bed. I guess she decided she didn't have to be on the floor just because Matthew was!
Yesterday they were very naughty at naptime. I put them down and had to go in a couple of times because they were playing and being noisy.  I decided I'd wait a while to go in even though they weren't asleep, when I did I found both of themin the sink in their room with about an inch of water on the floor!  I freaked out. They had pushed the ottoman from their rocking chair into their bathroom area (they just have a sink in their room and it connects to the bathroom through a  door that we keep locked). I started grabbing towels and soaking up the water and throwing the towels in the tub. I went through all the towels upstairs.  I got them changed because they were soaking wet and went downstairs to check out the damage. We had a couple streams of water coming down the ceiling in our closet, luckily it was just on the carpet and not anything else. Put some towels and bowls down and then went back upstairs and found some water in the closet that I had missed. M&K never went to sleep, we had to get Thomas from school so I didn't force the issue. I was too worn out.  When Jim got home he pulled the carpet up in their room because it was pretty wet. We used the fan for our bounce house to dry the wood and pad and it is all back to normal today.  We took everything out of their room but their beds. We put the dresser in the closet with a door knob cover so they can't get into it anymore. Oh, they had pulled all the clothes out of their dresser and wore working on the clothes in the closet! Twins really do get into more trouble together!
I took these pictures yesteday before the water incident. You can see they are looking a little naught, if I had only known!

Matthew is really into cars lately. He takes them everywhere with them.

Kaylee and her funny face!

Matthew this morning

We finally got some pictures up in our family room. I blew up our family picture at the beach at Costco ($5 for an 18x20) and hung the kids most recent pictures. We left a spot for baby girl under Kaylee's picture.

I'm 31 1/2 weeks and everything is going great! My one craving is Salt and Vinegar chips, only certain brands though, they have to be vinegary or they don't satisfy me. I'm going to the Dr. every 2 weeks now so it is all going to go by fast now! I'll have to get Jim to take a pix of me and I'll post it next time. I also have an ultrasound picture to post, but haven't scanned it yet.

Matthew Singing

So we haven't been doing much lately that I have been taking pictures of so I haven't been blogging lately. We are just busy doing the same old same old. I can't believe that it is October tomorrow! I've got to get my Christmas shopping done because I know once this baby girl comes in December I won't be getting out and doing much! This pregnancy is just flying by, I'll be 31 weeks on Friday! I am getting really tired in the afternoons. I fall asleep on the couch a lot and the kids just crawl all over me, not the most restful way to sleep, but it works! We're still working on the name. I have one I like, but Jim isn't convinced yet. I did get bedding for her room. I found it on eBay and got this 9 piece set for just $50! It is all new in the bag. It doesn't come with the curtains, hamper or mobile, but pretty much everything else! A very generous friend gave us her crib, car seat, high chair, exersaucer and tons of clothes. She will be one well dressed little girl! We had gotten rid of the majority of our baby stuff because we thought we were done so we are very grateful that she gave us so much stuff.I made some play dough today. I usually just buy play dough, but thought I would be more frugal and make some. The kids loved it and it really is better than the store bought stuff. My mom always cuts straws up and the kids use them as candles so I did the same. Matthew started singing happy birthday and I had to get it on video because it was so cute! Enjoy video

Grandpa Anderson's birthday is tomorrow, so this is for you!
