Bowling Fun

The kids love playing bowling on the Wii so a few Saturdays ago we decided to take them to a real bowling alley. They had fun, but Thomas was a little disappointed that he didn't get strikes like he does on Wii bowling. Their balls also got stuck occasionally so we would have to send another ball down to speed it along. Overall it was a fun little outing for a Saturday.

Averi hung out in her carseat, she enjoyed watching us bowl.

BYU Basketball

BYU played TCU on Saturday, tickets were pretty cheap so we decided to take the whole the family. We were right behind the band and Thomas and Matthew thought it was too loud so they would cover their ears.

Kaylee on the other hand didn't think it was loud enough so she screamed to add to the noise.
Averi did pretty good, she cried at first because of the noise, then she got used to it and just jumped at really loud noises. We got lots of looks because of our 4 small kids even though there were more BYU fans than TCU fans there.
Me and my girls
Kaylee and her evil look, Matthew was cheering for BYU
Thomas was pretty tired from a busy day of soccer and a birthday party, he really didn't like the noise and kept his ears covered most of the game.
BYU started out slow and then got a huge lead. It was fun to watch them in action. We left the game early and went and got ice cream at Braums. It was a fun family night!

More on Averi

I ordered this vinyl monogram for Averi's room, but i didn't want to put it on the wall because I want to paint the walls sometime so I bought a canvas and put it on that.
I had to buy an 18x18 canvas to fit the monogram, but it had lots of extra white space so I painted a border around the edges to match the bedding. The vinyl didn't go on the canvas very easily, it took a while to get it to stick, but I think it looks good. Now I need to order one for Kaylee!

We pulled the excersaucer out for Averi this weekend. She enjoys the different view of things.  She really likes to stand up so she likes that she can stand up in the exersaucer. She has also discovered her tongue. She sticks it out constantly, it is a cute little tongue!

Thomas went to a Star Wars birthday party for his friend Scotty on Saturday. Karen, Scotty's mom, made all the boys these cool star wars vests. Needless to say it is worn a lot by Thomas and Matthew, I think I'm going to have make Matthew one too!

Playroom Clean-up & Organizing

We bought this trofast system from Ikea last fall for the playroom, we kind of organized toys but I never got pictures on all the bins so it never lasted. Saturday Jim and I tackled the upstairs and got it all cleaned and organized and it is sooo nice. The kids like playing upstairs when everything is put away. I took pictures of all the bins, then printed them out and put them on the front of the bins. They can look at the pictures and know what they are looking for and it makes clean up easier.  We also boxed up some of the toys and put them in the attic to give them a break from them. When we pull them out, in a few weeks it is like Christmas with new toys!

so nice and clean! I love it this way!
The bins with the labels. I have one blank one for assorted junk.

The "Sports Room" our media room makes a great playroom for the big sports and big tables.

Now we just have to keep it all clean!

Sleeping Samuri

Matthew is a great little boy. He is always good for a hug and a kiss and always makes me laugh. He gets very silly at bedtime. He always runs out of his room and has to get a toy to take to bed with him. Lots of times it is his matchbox cars or his light saber. Last night I went in and he had his sword in his hand so I had to take a picture of it. His new favorite game on the Wii is sword fighting on wii resort sports. He and Kaylee are very good at it. I guess he felt like he needed his sword to keep him safe at night!

Averi is 3 months old!

I can't believe that little Averi is already 3 months old! Time is flying by!!
  • This morning she rolled over from her back to her tummy, she has been working on this for a while and was very suprised to find herself on her tummy with her arm pinned under her.
  • She eats about every 4 hours. If I try to feed her early because we're heading out she gets very angry. Luckily she still loves her pacifier and it will keep her happy in a crunch.
  • She is almost sleeping through the night. Most nights she wakes up just once around 5 or so. She is our best sleeper yet so I am not complaining at all!
  • She does not like being left alone, she wants to be a part of the action! She loves watching her brothers and sisters play and they love talking to her and holding her.
  • When Jim is home she prefers him to me. She'll cry with me then once Jim takes her she is happy and relaxed. It is nice to have a hubby who is so good with the kids!
  • She has started laughing, we will have to get it on video because there is nothing sweeter than a baby's laugh.
We feel so blessed to have sweet Averi as part of our family!

Going Crazy

Most mornings when Matthew is getting dressed he says, "Where we going Mommy?" I usually say, "we're going crazy!" He has started saying, Hey Daddy, we're going crazy!" We've been stuck in the house lately because it has been so cold and it is just such an effort to get out with all the kids I opt to stay home! I took all 4 to Wal-Mart yesterday to get a few groceries for the week and I was so frazzled by the end I don't feel like going to the store with the kids for a while. The upside of this is it is great for the budget, the downside, we go a little crazy :) Here's Kaylee & Matthew with their crazy faces this morning.
Averi loves her exercise mat. She is starting to grab at some of the toys. I have to be careful when M&K are around though because they like to play with the toys and get a little rough sometimes, shocking for toddlers I know! Averi loves her brothers and sisters even though they get a little crazy around her.

Bubble Bath!

The kids love taking baths in our jacuzzi tub because it makes such big bubbles when we turn the jets on! Jim took the boys to soccer practice so I gave Kaylee a bubble bath so she wouldn't be sad about being left home.

Averi chilling on my bed while Kaylee took the bubble bath.
At her Dr.'s appointment last week she weighed 10.5 pounds and was 23 inches long! She is growing so fast and is still a being a great baby!

More Big Snow Pictures

These are pictures I took Friday morning. It was a record snow fall for the area. The kids had a blast!
Working on a snow wall with Jim
Thomas loved the snow wall, he hid behind it during our snowball fight.
Kaylee working with the rake
Matthew had to go down the slide
Most of the snow was melted by Saturday. When Thomas looked outside and realized the snow was melting he cried and said, I don't want the snow to go away! Poor kid!

Snow Fun!

Last night the weathermen were talking about the snow we would get today, I didn't really think we would get much, boy was I wrong!! We had about 2 inches this morning and it has continued to fall all day! I heard we had about 7 inches by now, I'll have to take some more pictures before it gets dark. It is perfect packing snow for snowballs and snowmen. The kids were so excited to get their coats and mittens on and get out and play in it. Jim and I took turns playing outside with them.
Building a snowman with dad is so much fun!
I'm so glad that global warming is causing it to snow so much this year! Thanks Al Gore :)
