Something Fun and Unexpected

A couple of weeks ago I realized I was "late." With the move and everything going on I wasn't keeping good track of things . It took a home pregnancy test, just to rule it out and low and behold it came back (rather quickly): I was in shock. Those of you that know us well and know our history, know that our 3 kids are IVF babies. It took many years, lots of testing and poking and prodding to get our kids. Our infertility was unexplained, but we just figured we could not get pregnant without a team of highly paid experts to help us. We were wrong... The next day I took another test:
Positive again so I found a Dr. over here and made an appointment, that made it seem a little more real. Jim thought I was joking when I called to tell him the good news. Everyone who I have told has just laughed and thought how amazing it is. It really is a miracle. I always wanted a large family, but with it being so hard to get pregnant I decided I was just going to be happy with 3. I figured in a few years when the twins were older and more independent we could still try and have another, if not just be happy with the 3 wonderful kids we have. So I had my first Dr.'s appointment today and everything looks good. I'll be 8 weeks tomorrow and my due date is Dec. 4. The twins will be 2 yrs and 4 months and Thomas will be almost 5. I try not to think too much of hard it will be having the twins running around with a newborn, how hard it will be to even get out of the house (any one have a triple stroller for sale?). I've been a little sick already and tired too. Jim has been great about everything. I'm so glad that we live close to his work and that he is so great about taking care of the kids when he gets home so I can rest. Hopefully the yuckies won't last for too much longer and I can get back to being able to eat and cook.
So here's our little bean: baby #4! If you have looked at lots of ultrasounds, you probably can't see the baby, he's in the upper part of the center black thing (how's that for technical terms).

WOW! I'm so happy for you, especially since you're happy about it. I might be totally overwhelmed with it all, but you seem very excited about it, good for you! The Lord must see what a wonderful mother you are and said, "She can totally handle more!" and sent down the next one. :) I too hope your sickness doesn't last long.

Wow Marji ,
Brittany told to check out your blog and see your news.... I am so happy for you. Sounds like life will at your house will be a lot of fun. It is an amazing time when your children are small and all underfoot and your life is pretty much just hanging on for the ride, enjoy it while it lasts for eventually they start to go and then you find that you long for those days when you were stuck at home for days on end cleaning up froot loops, watching pbs, and rereading the same favorite stories.

Congratulations!
