Father’s Day 2012

We had a nice Father’s Day weekend. We went to my parents house Saturday night for dinner. It was fun to hang out with the family and there is always good food.

We woke Jim up with breakfast in bed {eggs, bacon, toast & strawberries} The kids had to help them eat.

Averi worked so hard to get Jim’s big Hershey bar opened. She finally did after 15 minutes and ate quite a bit of it. She did share it with everyone at least.

Thomas took this picture of us. After he took it he asked if he could get a camera like mine because he liked taking our picture! I told him he’d have to wait a few years. It took me over 35 years to get this nice of a camera and he wouldn’t be getting one anytime soon.  We love you Jim, thanks for being such a wonderful husband and Father!!!

Happy Birthday to Jim!

Jim had his __ birthday last week. We celebrated on Monday (Labor Day) with all the family and on Thursday with our little family. We had hamburgers and hot dogs that Jim did a wonderful job cooking on his grill.
We had a nice time sitting on the deck watching the kids (and breaking up fights).
The kids had so much fun jumping on the bounce house
Averi, Kaylee & Anna-3 pretty girls
The food was well received by the kids!
The kids enjoyed Popsicles that Uncle Oscar brought...I like how the girls are sitting on one side and the boys on the other.
It was too windy outside for the candles, so Jim just pretended to blow them out...the kids were a little upset that they weren't lit.
On Thursday night I made Jim lemon chicken for dinner. It was yummy. We had lots of chocolate cake left from Monday so we put some candles on it and the kids helped him blow it out.

We love you Jim and hope you had a wonderful birthday!!

Family Home Evening

We love our backyard, it is especially nice in the evening because we get so much shade from the house. On Monday night the kids were enjoying playing outside so Jim thought it would be fun to do our lesson outside. It was great, the kids just sat at the picnic table or on their big wheels and we had a quick lesson.
We like to use the Gospel Art book since our kids are so small. Jim did a lesson on reverence during prayers and showed pictures of people being reverent.
Our kids have a hard time with that a lot, they turn into monkeys when we try to say family prayers or they all start fighting over whose turn it is to pray! They've done a little better this week after the lesson.
Averi just loves being outside so she was very happy.

After the lesson they got to enjoy the nice weather before bedtime.
Just a cute shot of Averi's little bum crawling.

Visiting Dad's Office

We finally went and visited Jim at work last week. The kids were so excited to go and see his office and meet his coworkers. He has a nice office with a view of the Arkansas River.
Thomas got to work checking out Jim's ipod and stapling some papers together.
Averi enjoyed the "Daddy Ride."
Matthew and Kaylee enjoyed picking all the M&M's out of dad's trail mix and drawing some pictures.
We topped off the trip with cold water from the water cooler and a treat for the ride home from the gift shop downstairs. It was a fun little outing for everyone! Thanks for letting us come visit Dad! We love you!!!

Feeding Fish & Turtles @ Fidelity

The Fidelity campus has a great pond with fish and turtles so we took the kids there a couple of Saturdays ago to feed them. They had a great time and freaked us out getting a little too close to the edge. Luckily no one fell in.

I just had my point and shoot, so I couldn't get a great picture of the turtles, they would come right up and almost take the bread out of your hand.
I tried to get a cute shot of the kids in this cool little window, but they wouldn't cooperate!

Averi was there, she just snoozed in her stroller the whole time.

Fun with Daddy

While Jim had his 2 weeks paternity leave he took the kids to do some fun things. He and my mom went to the Gaylord Hotel. They had it decorated for Christmas and it was awesome.
Real Gingerbread house, it smelled so good!
Big Gingerbread men
He also took them to the Fort Worth Zoo one day all on his own. They had so much fun and saw lots of cool animals. It was a perfect day, nice and warm and hardly anyone there.
They loved the monkeys
They also had so much fun feeding the fish.
The kids are lucky to have such a great Dad who isn't afraid to take the kids places on his own! We love you!
